Chris Sagner 6D Teaching Game on OGS while streaming on Twitch

On 15 January, while streaming on Twitch Rav3n (Chris) offered a teaching game. Come to find out that not only is he a 6 dan amateur player, but he also teaches full time.

He asked if I wanted an even game or a handicap and I said it was up to him as he has experience teaching. So, we played a short even game. Short because he was going to be able to capture what evolved into a large dragon. Don’t worry, no dragons were harmed in the making of the video.

You can find his contact info on our Online Teachers page.

Michael Redmond 9P Coaching freeofme 5K vs Wallerdog 6K and Review

On Saturday 7 January 2023 I was able to participate in and stream a match between a fellow single digit kyu player and me while Michael Redmond, 9P coached both players.

Thanks to Soul of Departure for hosting this collaboration and inviting me to take part in playing, as well as streaming. And, on top of that to be able to put the video on my YouTube channel for everyone’s benefit.

It was a very close game and had some very exciting parts to it, so I hope you enjoy watching it.

Michael Redmond also offers lesson and I have added his information to our Online Teachers page.

Alexandre Dinerchtein 3P vs Wallerdog (that’s me)

This match took place in February of 2020. I live streamed the match on Twitch and then edited it and put it up on YouTube.

I played with a 5-stone handicap in this game.

I first met Alex when I was working and living in Korea. At that time he was playing in the Korean Baduk Association Pro league.

I took in person lessons from him for several months until he returned home. After that I took online lessons for several more months.

I like his style of teaching and his sarcastic humor. 🙂 If you are serious about studying and playing go, I recommend Alex as a teacher.

Contact information for these professional and amateur go players can be found on my Online Teachers page.

Cho Hye Yeon 9P vs Wallerdog

This game was also live streamed on Twitch and later put up on YouTube.

I played a 6-stone handicap in this game.

I also met Cho Hye Yeon while I was in Korea. On a return trip to Korea she showed me her go club and I was able to meet some of her students, as well.

She is one of the strongest women players in Korea.

Alexandre Dinerchtein 3P vs Wallerdog

I played this match in March of 2020.

I again played with a 5-stone handicap. One of the ways of teaching from professionals is to have the student play handicap games. Alex’s rule was if I could beat him twice at the current handicap, I could then graduate to playing a handicap with one less stone.

Watch and see how I do in this second live match!

Kim Yoon Young 8P vs Wallerdog

Another of the many Professional Go Players I was able to meet when I was learning how to play in Korea. Mind you, the reason I was in Korea was for work and so I was learning Go as a hobby.

Kim Yoon Young lives in Europe, so getting a time to have a match together is easier than when working out the timing for someone in Korea, China, or Japan.

I played a 5-stone handicap game in this match.

Svetlana Shikshina 3P vs Wallerdog

On 14 May 2020 I played a 4 stone handicap game on KGS against Svetlana Shikshina.

I met her in Korea after Alexander Dinerchtein went back to Russia. I took a few lessons at one of the local go clubs.

If you are interested, you can check out her Facebook page: Svetlana on Facebook

Robert Jasiek 5D vs Wallerdog

I’ve never met Robert in person; however, I am familiar with his name in the English go community and with his books.

We played an even game as I want to find out what mistakes I’m making when playing similarly ranked players.

I look forward to playing more games with Robert in the future, so won’t you join me on Twitch so you can watch the games live?
